OMS PATHOLOGY

Our oral and maxillofacial surgeons can perform biopsies of suspicious lesions of both bony and soft tissues.  Depending on the area needing to be biopsied either a portion of the suspicious tissue or the entire lesion may be removed.

Biopsies are indicated when there are changes within the bony and soft tissues. The most common reason for biopsies are to rule out or confirm suspicions for oral cancers.

We recommend routine visits with your general dentist and monthly oral cancer self-examination. Remember that your mouth is one of your body’s most important warning systems. Do not ignore suspicious lumps or sores.
