Corrective and Realignment Jaw Surgery

Orthognathic surgery is corrective jaw surgery which is performed to correct major and minor skeletal and dental irregularities. ┬áSurgery can help improve chewing, speaking, and even breathing. This surgery can dramatically alter the patient’s appearance in a positive way, but is performed to improve and correct functional problems.

In the management of skeletal and dental irregularities, we work closely with your restorative dentist and orthodontist to provide a team approach to your care. This treatment will most often require orthodontics before and after surgery.  The treatment time is typically 18-24 months and is a long-term commitment for you and your family.
